A Homeland Denied

We are holding an event jointly with Dartmouth Library at 5.30pm on Tuesday 23 May entitled A Homeland Denied - in the footsteps of a Polish PoW by Irena Kossakowski.

Her book is based on memories of her father, a young Polish university student in 1939 who joined the army only to be captured by the Russians and sent to a labour camp. This is the dramatic and poignant story of his  wartime experiences, eventually joining the British army. The event marks the allied victory at Monte Casino, where he fought, and where there was huge loss of life, particularly amongst the Polish forces. Tickets cost £2.50 from the library.

The book is for sale at the shop.
