OUR 5TH BIRTHDAY AND WINNIE-THE-POOH'S 90TH EVENT

We celebrated our 5th Birthday with an event at Dartmouth Library marking also the 90th Birthday of Winnie-the- Pooh, on Monday December 5.
Author Kathryn Aalto gave a talk for grown-ups on her book ‘The Natural World of Winnie-the-Pooh: A walk through the Forest that Inspired the Hundred Acre Wood’ Her book is part travelogue, part biography and natural history – a companion guide to the Pooh stories, evoking a wonderful sense of place, and a reminder of how childhood is founded on magic and secret hideaway places. It has proved popular on her recent tour of the United States (you can buy a copy at the bookshop).

Kathryn Aalto with bookshop manager Andrea Saunders at the event, with a selection of Pooh books and memorabilia, including two beautiful antique Christopher Robin dolls loaned by one of our volunteers. Below, Kathryn giving her talk at Dartmouth Library.
